I have lived a full life and I believe that life is meant to be lived to the fullest. I can relate to many of your challenges because I have had them, too. I have been married, divorced and remarried. I have children, grandchildren and step-children. I have also cared for elderly parents. It is an understatement to say that life is challenging.

I have had multiple careers and interests and continue to use art, creativity and nature as soul sustaining inspiration.

My foundational belief is that you already have everything you need and my great desire is to help you identify and remove the obstacles that are blocking joy and fulfillment in your one amazing life. Life's too short to be unhappy, unsure, or unfulfilled. We do what we do because that's what we learned. When we know better, we can do better.

I use the lens of compassion to identify where things went wrong for you. Helping you find self-compassion is where healing starts. My learning is never finished and I continue to explore new ways to help my clients with ongoing training in Relationships, Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, Grief and Addictions.

Therapy is not a one size fits all and I draw from many orientations to meet the specific needs of my clients. My approach begins with Compassionate Inquiry. When you come to therapy, you hurt and the first step is to find the source of the pain. But it doesn't do anyone any good to keep poking at the sore or endlessly talking about the problem. What helps is getting a boost out of the hole by identifying and eliminating dysfunctional habits while learning and implementing new skills.

Gestalt Therapy brings focuses on the present where we can discover new awareness and a feeling of aliveness. When you shut down your pain you also cut off your joy. Excavating your unique authentic self is exhilarating.

Reality (also known as Choice) Therapy helps us sort out and identify how we contribute to our problems. Relational Therapy teaches us how to be in meaningful connection with others. We don’t get to change others no matter how convinced we are that we know what's best for them. We only get to live our life, and believe me, that's more than enough. By focusing our work on ourselves, miracles happen in amazing and unpredictable ways. When we change, everything changes.

I use Solution Focused Therapy because it allows us to appreciate and build on our strengths. We have enormous resources ready to be revealed.

Family Systems Therapy is based on the premise that each family is an intricately balanced unit that functions according to spoken and unspoken rules. Sometimes family members assume devastatingly unhealthy roles to ensure the survival of the family. If your family is in turmoil, there is help and hope. Things can get better and it starts with you.

I take great pride in the courage, progress and success of my clients, and I look forward to helping you, too. Get in touch to learn more.
