Helping You Move Forward
I have lived a full life and I believe that life is meant to be lived to the fullest. I can relate to many of your challenges because I have had them, too.
I have been married, divorced and remarried. I have children, grandchildren and step-children. I have also cared for elderly parents. It is an understatement to say that life is challenging.
I have had multiple careers and interests and continue to use art, creativity and nature as inspiration. I still serve as an interior design consultant because it feeds my soul.
My great desire is to help you identify and remove the obstacles that are blocking joy and fulfillment in your one amazing life.
Life's too short to be unhappy, unsure, or unfulfilled. We do what we do because that's what we learned. When we know better, we can do better. I use the lens of compassion to identify where things went wrong for you. Helping you find self-compassion is where healing starts.
I take great pride in the courage, progress and success of my clients, and I look forward to helping you, too. Take the first step. Get in touch to learn more. Everyone is welcome!

My learning is never finished and I continue to explore new ways to help my clients with ongoing training in Anxiety, Depression, Relationships, Trauma, Grief and Addictions.
Therapy is not a one size fits all and I draw from many orientations to meet the specific needs of my clients.
My main approach begins with Compassionate Inquiry. When we come to therapy, we hurt and the first step is to find the source of the pain. But it doesn't do anyone any good to keep poking at the sore or endlessly talking about the problem. What helps is getting a boost to climb out of the hole by learning new skills for dealing with it.
Gestalt Therapy brings us into the present where we can discover new awareness and a feeling of aliveness. When we shut down our hurt we also cut off our joy. Excavating our unique authentic self is exhilarating.
Reality aka Choice Therapy helps to sort out and identify how we contribute to our problems and Relational Therapy teaches us how to be in meaningful connection with others. We can't change others no matter how convinced we are that we know what's best for them. We only get to live our life, and believe me, that's more than enough. By focusing our work on ourselves, miracles happen in amazing and unpredictable ways.
When we change, everything changes.
I enlist Solution Focused Therapy because it allows us to appreciate and build on our strengths. I don't believe we give ourselves enough credit. Everyone has successes, whether they realize it or not. Just surviving is a success!
I can help you set some goals in line with your passions and abilities so you can get to work creating a life worth living.
Family Systems Therapy is based on the premise that each family is an intricately balanced unit that functions according to spoken an unspoken rules. Sometimes family members assume devastatingly unhealthy roles to ensure the survival of the family.
If your family is in turmoil, there is help. You just have to ask for it.
